UPF50 PLUS
UPF50+ refers to the Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) of our swimsuits, swimtees, swimshorts, bikinis and hats. It is a measure of how effectively the fabric blocks the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. UPF50+ is the highest rating and offers excellent protection against UV rays.
Below you will find an overview of the UPF classifications:
- UPF15-24: Good protection against UV radiation.
- UPF25-39: Very good protection against UV radiation.
- UPF40-50+: excellent protection against UV rays.
UPF50+ fabric blocks at least 98% of UV rays and only lets 1/50th (2%) or less through. This means it provides a high level of protection for your skin when you are exposed to the sun. Garments with a UPF50+ rating are recommended for those who spend extended periods of time in the sun or have sensitive skin that is prone to sunburn and UV damage.
It is important to note that the UPF rating refers to the fabric itself and does not take into account other factors such as fit, coverage or the presence of other materials that may affect the overall sun protection. Additionally, a garment’s UPF rating may decrease over time and with use, so it is essential to follow proper care instructions to maintain its protective properties.
